What Do I Teach?
Hi, I'm Jean! I teach voice, piano and violin to beginning students age 5+. I also offer support for students in beginning band and small ensembles for home learners wanting a collaborative music experience.
I'm passionate about music and have been teaching music to children for over 15 years in both the classroom setting and private lessons.
Whether your goal is to help foster self-esteem, creativity, and expression, develop cognitive skills, improve academic performance, satisfy curiosity, or simply learn to sing/play for pleasure - you can rely on me for fun, inspired and engaging lessons that your child will love as they embark on their musical journey.
Voice
Develop vocal technique through games and exercises to help with pitch, rhythm, expression and dynamics.
Violin
Working through Suzuki book level 1 - Singing, clapping and ear-training are included in learning the basics through short classical pieces and folk songs.
Piano
Learn fundamentals of theory, technique and sight-reading through a variety of styles and songs that you enjoy.
Band Support & Ensemble
Extra support for those who feel lost in band class (embouchure, posture, fingering and note reading).
